Good Morning, Lord

Dad’s blog

My dad, Rev. Donald B. Cooke, was a United Methodist pastor for forty years, having served six churches in Southern California and Arizona, as well as District Superintendent for the Desert Southwest Conference of the United Methodist Church.

Dad was not a published author, however he authored many writings, letters and sermon teachings for the people he pastored, much like St. Paul did, for the 1st century church. In addition to being a pastor with gifts in teaching, preaching and shepherding, he was also a gifted writer. Over the years, some of his writings were shared, some were boxed up and stored, and some were revealed to us unexpectedly. Dad’s blog was created as a repository of his written word, with the intention to share it with the world.

DonaldBCooke.org is the site address, and “Reflections” is the name of his blog. Dad passed into the presence of Jesus on August 28th, 1992, but his impact and influence remained behind as a legacy for us, his family and his friends. On the 25th anniversary of dad’s passing, the family decided it was time to share the legacy of Don Cooke. And that’s how “Reflections” (donaldbcooke.org) came to be.

All are welcome to head on over to dad’s blog. My prayer is that you will catch a glimpse of the man I called “dad”, and find a blessing of faith, hope and love, to the glory of God.

Love,

Cheryl
